The A&P standard range includes 150, 300 & 600 pressure classes in sizes 2" to 36" and is manufactured in accordance with API6D. The valves are ideal for use in pipeline transmission applications by providing a genuine full bore capability to keep line pressure losses to a minimum. The valves are also capable of accepting all types of line cleaning devices such as pigs and scrapers.
The design offers bubble-tight shut-off, capable of achieving double block and bleed conditions and low operating torques.
The standard valve is of cast carbon steel construction with the body/bonnet material in accordance with ASTM A216 Gr. WCB. The seat rings, which are fitted with a PTFE (Teflon) primary seal insert, are allowed to float in the body housing. The disc plate is hard chrome faced to resist wear and to protect the sealing faces, remains in contact with the seat during full operation of the valve. The stem is totally enclosed to offer protection from the surrounding environment, particularly useful in desert locations where sandstorms are frequent. End connections are normally supplied in accordance with ASME B16.5 but other end connection standards can also be accommodated including butt-weld.
